YUMMI, that’s so good. We’ve all said it while munching our way through our favorite dish. But did you ever imagine you would say it at Vatana? In Vatana in Overpelt you can finish your shopping day with tons of goodies. Customers are treated to good coffee with sweet and salty delights, while sat in a design by Creneau: welcome to coffee bar Yummi.

Yummi is a real crowd-pleaser with its fresh and happy looks. Those looks are matched within the interior and branding. The high ceilings and generous amounts of glass allowed us to divide the coffee bar in two areas. First an intimate zone in the heart of Yummi for a moment of relaxation with cozy couches and a high reading table. Then a more fast-paced area by the window that has more people passing through, a kids corner, clearing station and unfixed tables and chairs.

The two zones are divided by a wooden structure with integrated lighting. Within it there’s many decorative objects that highlight the homey atmosphere at Yummi. It is, along with the acoustic wall behind the bar, the eye catcher of the coffee bar.

The outlines of Yummi consist mainly of cold materials: glass, tiles and an industrial ceiling. Many cold materials make for bad acoustics. We solved this by covering the back wall of the bar with a patchwork of perforated acoustic panels. The panels not only provide an acoustic solution; they also add to the cozy character of the place. So does the use of wood, leather and other warm materials.

Homey, happy, cozy, accessible, for young and old. That’s what Yummi’s interior is all about. At Creneau we feel the identity of a brand is at least as important as the interior design. And so we loved that our client trusted us with the branding of Yummi as well.

Their trust resulted in a powerful name that you can only pronounce with a smile, in a cheerful, dancing font. The vibrant red combined with the golden typewriter lettering accentuates the easygoingness as well as the old familiar feeling of home. Customers are like family to Vatana, that’s why we developed the multi-interpretable pay-off ‘Yummi Loves U’.
