Every person who stops by at Belgorama, Brussels, can say he/she got a taste of the local flavor. Belgians are famous for their mishmash architectural styles. Belgorama picked up typical elements of Belgian houses lining the local roads (red bricks, pointy rooftops, limestone tiles, kitschy-shaped hedges, private hothouses, surreal construction mishaps, potted sanseveria plants, concrete fences, domestic pigeons, etc.) and tapped into its charming essence to create an ‘oh so Belgian’ interior with a contemporary twist.

Rain gutters were used to hide wiring and cables. The enormous window with a view of the tarmac was ‘domesticated’ by using hothouse elements.

The lighting fixtures mimicked pigeons resting on a wire after a long race. The walls are decorated with a deconstructed aerial view of the local fields, the cities, all the way up to the North Sea, mimicking a pigeon’s view of the country. The menu is also a delicious panorama of Belgian gastronomy, serving classic dishes and treats.
