When we were asked to create a new concept for Autogrill at the International Belgian airport in Brussels, we went all-out Belgian with a capital B. The location itself gave us the idea to work with a central bar, once you enter the brasserie, you get acquainted, with the beer range and all the elements that refer to the beer brewing.

The new Belle & Belge Brasserie (which translates as ‘Beautiful and Belgian’) was born out of love for good food and - perhaps most importantly- our lip-smackingly luscious, uniquely refreshing selection of Belgian beer.

The process of brewing is simply translated into a graphical wall art, copper lines around the logo, in a kind of maze. This stands for the beerprocess, piping running from the different boilers, to produce beer.

We also found our inspiration in the foam bubbles topping the golden goodness of the finest Belgian beers. This was simply implemented in some items of the interior design. Such as the cozy cocoon seat and beautifully bulbous light fixtures, next to the window. Copper elements, a reference to the notorious Belgian beer breweries and the amber hues of its most famous beverage, give the space a warm and welcoming glow. Thanks to Belle & Belge, hanging out at the airport is never a stale affair.

Also in the lay out of the tile floor pattern we made a kind of bubbling pattern. With the beercolors integrated, such as the yellow, amber and brown colors.

Onto the windowside they fade into a white surface, so you get the impression of a bubling floor.

Light fittings, logo applications, decorative beerbottles ... all these elements enhance the atmosphere of the Belgian beer look & feel.
