Once upon a time, there was a hotel with many, many rooms. And all the children and grown-ups who stayed in those rooms, felt as if they were spending the night in a fairy tale castle up in the air. Was it because of the floating nightstands? Or maybe the hidden closet with the little red dancing shoes inside? And surely that’s not Rapunzel’s braid holding the curtains together?

Ninety eight comfort rooms in the Efteling hotel were touched with some of our magic. Decorated with secret spells, famous fairy tale creatures on the walls and a mesmerizing new carpet design, the light and airy - yet still very functional - Victorian rooms take the guests to another realm. Is it for real or is it a dream?

All we know is that the visitors of the Efteling Hotel think back to their little holiday happily ever after.

The end

The Efteling Hotel was already 15 years operational before we touched it. The building itself was designed as a ‘castle in the sky’. A glass treshold more or less lifts the building from its foundations. We designed the comfort rooms with the building concept in mind. Our mission was to really made it appear as if some elements in the rooms were floating and as if you were walking on air.
